Job Purpose


Reporting to the Managing Director, responsibilities include. Overseeing the finance and payroll departments includes the group including managing a team of 9. Financial planning and analysis as well as providing an essential contribution to the commercial activity of the Company through the operation of accurate and reliable pricing models. In addition, the Finance Manager has overall responsibility for IT systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Finance Monthly financial reporting including cost centre reporting, variance analysis and commentary
  • Monthly gross profit reconciliation
  • Weekly reporting - sales, stocks/production planning and cash
  • Payroll for all group companies
  • Group VAT return
  • Annual budgeting including integrated cash flows
  • Annual audit - prepare files for auditors and provide information for the tax computations
  • ONS statistical returns Treasury
  • Payments - on line authorisation of all group company payments
  • Monitor group bank company balances daily/weekly
  • Manage group company cash flow
  • Manage foreign currency exposure
  • Company Secretarial
  • Ensure compliance with Companies House filing requirements
  • Report annual insurance declarations and keep the register of policies
  • Reconcile and allocate insurance charges and recharge to group companies
  • Maintain all key documents, including legal and loan agreements
  • Update Statutory Books
  • Maintain group loan records, including interest calculations and monthly repayments
  • Document and execute group reorganisations, acquisitions and company formations IT
  • Provide support relating to the Production Database
  • Produce adhoc historical analyses of sales and purchases to end users
  • Oversee mass mailings and mail merges
  • Ensure the Company is fully PCI compliant
  • Specify system improvements and liaise with developers Commercial
  • Maintain the costing/pricing model
  • Generate price lists
  • Generate custom prices for larger customers and maintain historical records
  • Produce price increase mailings and implement price increases Purchasing/stock control
  • Monthly Stock reconciliations
  • Annual Organic and Biodynamic stock reconciliations for audit
  • Materials Requirement Planning for all raw materials and packaging



Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; or a fully qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and proficiency using accounting/finance software systems and tools
  • Experience of MS Access databases (desirable not essential)
  • Experience of Windows Server, managing users, printers (desirable not essential)
  • Demonstrated experience of annual audits
  • Experience handling costing in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team through change and towards shared goals
  • IT savvy, familiar with Microsoft 365 and excellent knowledge of MS Excel and working knowledge of MS Access databases
  • This is a senior level position and ideally you will have proven previous experience in a senior finance position, ideally gained in a related industry, although not essential
