Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for monthly financials and budget, to ensure effective financial reporting and assistance to the beneficiaries.
  • Responsible for effective financial reporting on foreign operations as well as ad hoc tasks regarding VAT, Stats and audit-related tasks.
  • Process the ex-Pathologist payment to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Calculate and process the beneficiary cash drawings to ensure correct and accurate payment.
  • Process month-end journals to provide accurate figures.
  • Manage various recons to ensure legislative requirements are met, as well as to give accurate salary instructions.
  • Complete and assist with company Budget to ensure budgets are aligned with the company objectives.
  • Review, process and report on controllable business expenses, as well as assisting pathologists in queries to ensure legislative requirements, as well as pathologists needs are met.
  • Perform financial function for foreign operations - making use of different systems, Meditech and Pastel to provide performance indicators by preparing financial statements and ensuring that legislative requirements are met.
  • Preparing Manco report of these figures.
  • Calculating VAT for various companies, as well as processing payments on SARS e-filing system.
  • VAT reasonability testing for all companies registered for VAT.
  • Prepare and report on pathologist's drawings control spreadsheets and to handle interpretation thereof.
  • Compile quarterly and yearly statistical analysis for Statistics South Africa to reflect company performance.
  • Handle pathologist company credit card administration.
  • Assist auditors to ensure legislative requirements are met.
  • Preparing yearly tax-packs to external auditors.
  • Maintain good client relations to promote the image of company.
  • Take responsibility for management and accounting of leases as per IFRS.
  • Assist Group Financial Manager and Group Accountant with ad-hoc requests.

Qualification & Experience:

  • B COM degree
  • 4 years General Ledgers experience
  • 4 years general Accounting experience
  • Basic knowledge of MS Word
  • Knowledge of advanced Excel
  • Basic knowledge of PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Pastel Accounting
  • Knowledge of Accounting principles
  • Knowledge of the VAT Act
  • Knowledge of the Income Tax Act

  • B COM Honours degree
  • Previous work experience in a medical environment
  • 3 Years articles
  • Knowledge of the Meditech system
