Assistant Accountant

I am working with a highly commended Investment Fund Services firm who have established themselves globally over the last sixteen years. They provide fund administration to top tier clients across private equity, real estate, infrastructure and debt and currently have over USD 140bn in net assets. The firm operate across three continents with over 600 staff members, with their UK office based in Central London, near Blackfriars station. They are accredited by both ACCA and CIMA, providing you with the incredible opportunity to become a qualified Accountant in a reputable and desirable company.
The role of Assistant Accountant is crucial to the efficient management of the diverse portfolio of clients within the company. You will be expected to have full ownership of a client portfolio and maintain good relationships with each client to fully understand their individual needs. You will prepare several transactional and financial reports, including management accounts, journal entries, bank reconciliations and VAT returns. Among this, you will be expected to liaise with investors and prepare reports outlining timelines of key deliverables and calculations. The varied responsibilities within this role will provide you with an excellent opportunity to further your experience and gain fundamental knowledge to excel within fund accounting.
To be considered, you must have good knowledge of basic accounting principles such as double entry bookkeeping, trial balance and deferred income. Also, you should be proficient using Excel and be confident with vlookups, pivot tables and sumifs. You should have a minimum of one year of recent accounting experience and be looking for a new role that will enhance your skills. You must be degree educated or have completed your AAT Level 4. For this role, it is essential that you are committed to starting or continuing with your ACCA/CIMA qualification.
In return, you will receive a salary between £27,000 and £30,000 (depending on experience) alongside a very generous study support package to become ACCA/CIMA qualified. This will include financial support for your study materials, study leave and exams, as well as the support and coaching from your colleagues.
