Forensics Analyst (Data Analyst)
Position Description:
We are looking for a Data Analyst based in our Group Forensics and Security department in Cape Town. You will form part of the data team and the main purpose of this role is to maintain and interpret large data sets, including data capturing and analytics to ensure that the risk for our business is contained. Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and interpret large datasets
Presentation of data to the team to make pro-active decisions to prevent crime in stores
Report writing with the vision to digitize current data
Dashboard monitoring to inform relevant stakeholders to action tasks.
Dealing with queries and the support function of current and new systems to the team and the business.
Assisting in ensuring that the departmental objectives are achieved
Carrying out any reasonable requests that may be required
The ideal candidate will have:
3 Year relevant qualification or alternative more than 3 years' experience as a data analyst
National diploma [advantageous]
To be computer literate and advanced knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel [Non - negotiable]
SQL or similar [advantageous]
Proven record of accuracy when capturing data and report writing
Ability to work with large data sets and accurately interpret data to identify trends.
Integrity (confidentiality)
Knowledge of system integration roadmaps with different inhouse / external systems
Analytical and problem solving skills
To be able to work independently and in a team
To work in an organised and structured manner but able to Adapt and respond to change
Deadline driven and Strong time management
Logical thinker
Strong attention to detail and an Enquiring mind
A high degree of stress tolerance
Understanding of the Retail environment [advantageous]
Must be able to Multitask
Excellent communication (verbal, written and presentation).and interpersonal skills dealing with individuals at various levels
Knowledge of retail store operations and systems [advantageous]
Basic Financial experience [advantageous]
Preference will be given, but not limited to, candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act and in line with TFG's Employment Equity Policy.
