Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
This fulltime role is responsible for delivering the Council's land and water rates function in accordance with legislative requirements. You'll manage the annual and quarterly rates processes, prepare information for management, for the annual plan and for the long-term plan. You'll manage the land valuation information to ensure its correct and provide monthly reporting of arrears balances and collection of rates.
You will need to have the ability and willingness to work outside of office hours, including weekends, as required. You'll get to utilise your leadership skills by leading a small rates team.

You'll hold a relevant tertiary qualification and have at least 3 years' experience working in a rates environment with excellent knowledge of the Local Government Rating Act. Your exceptional leadership skills and highly developed interpersonal skills will see you shine in this role. You will have proven attention to detail, be very process focused with a strong emphasis on accuracy. As a leader you will be solution focused and have the ability to influence decisions. You will also have a strong understanding of te Tiriti o Waitangi and its implications for Council and you'll be familiar working with whānau, hapū and iwi. You'll be joining a team that envisions being better together, so you'll be a team player that upholds the values that a bunch of staff developed together (see below).

You'll never be more than half an hour away from rivers, lakes, forests, beaches, and great walks - most are just on your doorstep. We love this place, and you will too.
