Our client in the Logistics Industry based in Johannesburg (East Rand) is currently looking to employ a Management Accountant.
Role Overview:


  • Produce monthly management accounts for the division. This includes analysing the GL, raising accruals, reversing and reallocating incorrect amounts etc.
  • Querying and investigating unusual variances. Communicating results to Financial Manager and Business Unit Managers.
  • Prepare monthly audit files/ balance sheet reconciliations, ad hoc reports, investigations and year-end audit pack.
  • Facilitate budget process.
  • Accurate forecasting of P&L, Balance sheet and cash flows.
  • Review monthly VAT reconciliation for division ensuring accurate split of VAT 201 return elements.
  • Identify areas of concern and suggest possible solutions.
  • Produce operational reports related to specific division.
  • Review Accounts Payable reconciliations, challenge and drive resolution of long outstanding reconciling items, check rebate and settlement discount percentages to master supplier report.
  • Verify bank details of all vendors before payment.
  • Manage the mapping of the reporting files between Mozaic and Embrace and process the necessary entries in Mozaic for Group reporting purposes.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as prescribed by the Financial Manager to assist in achieving the Finance Department objectives.
  • Provision of back-up support when other finance staff are on leave.


Requirements:


  • Matric
  • B Com Accounting or Financial management with articles
  • 3 years relevant working experience, in an FMCG environment preferably
  • Financial - the ability to prepare financial statements from source data;
  • Attention to detail - ability to achieve high levels of attention to detail and accuracy; ability to detect mistakes or discrepancies.
  • Report writing - ability to write clear and concise management accounting reports.
  • IFRS, VAT and Tax Experience
  • Excel (Advanced)
  • Accounting Software - Knowledge of Mozaic advantageous.

Responsibilities:

  • Timeous month end reporting of divisional results.
  • Accurate, timely management accounts
  • Preparation and review of monthly accounting files - accurate audit files
  • Forecasting for the division
  • Review of Creditors recons, ensuring correct rebate and discount percentages are used, vendor banking details confirmation and reducing reconciling items
  • Budgeting for the division
  • Variance analysis
  • Value added services - identifying issues that could lead to cost saving and/or improved efficiencies
  • VAT recon
  • Operational report - operational statistics
