Assistant Financial Accountant

Your new company
You will be joining a very well-established Lloyd's of London Insurance Broker as their Assistant Financial Accountant on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a newly created role due to company growth, and you will be given the autonomy and independence to put your own spin on the role and mould it around your own skills and existing experience. Part of a close-knit team of 3 in finance, you will report into the Finance Director and work closely alongside the Credit Controller. Based in their modern City of London office at least 3 days a week, you will have the opportunity to work from home for the remaining two days. Most of the team come into the office every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, but these days are not set in stone.
Your new role
In your new role, you will be responsible for preparing financial reports including monthly P&Ls, supporting in the preparation of annual budgets and monitoring these, assisting the FD in preparing documentation and information for Audits, assisting in the preparation of Financial Regulatory reporting, liaising with internal departments and external partners, assisting in submissions of work packages into the Bureau, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and assisting with any additional financial/administrative tasks as required.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role, you will need to have at least one year of experience in a transactional finance role, ideally with some exposure to month-end duties or financial accounting duties. You will come from an Insurance or Professional Services, Financial Services or Banking background. You will be a confident, mature, proactive, enthusiastic and willing individual with excellent attention to detail and a clear drive to succeed. You may be studying towards a further Accountancy qualification, but this is not an essential requirement as the hiring manager is open to reviewing candidates who are qualified by the amount of experience they possess.
